This is an entertainment show so the BBC's commitment to impartiality doesn't apply; Brigstocke can be as biased as he likes. He likes to take the piss out of the right-wing press who constantly claim the BBC's news coverage is slanted to the left (which is demonstrably not the case).

in Sweden both right and left wants free hospital care so when Sara Pailin says that free hospital care is Communism we in Sweden justs say thats she is nuts.Taxes should go to help the citizens in the country and hospital care is something that everyone needs and if i don't get that right i don't see the point of paying taxes since i wont earn from it.

Brigstock's funny in a different way here compared to his stand-up. If you take a short snip like this from The Late Edition a lot of the self-reference which takes time to flesh out is lost. The subject matter's the same, but the delivery is different.

Democrat policies would be considered right-wing party in the UK, and almost all of europe. Thei entire US political landscape is so suffused with free-marketeering and christianity that even 'left-wing' dem policies like their healthcare proposals are still leagues to the right of what's accepted over here. |
