Nice idea, but it's tilted too much in favor of films made after the Seventies or so. What about The Big Combo? The Parent Trap? One of the Bond films? Citizen Kane? (Short and to the point.) The Night Walker? Orphee? I can think of many others.

Just lovely. Also evocative of a subtler truth: people wax nostalgic about old-school Hollywood, but in those pre-TV days they cranked out pictures so fast that nobody even had time to come up with things like creative title sequences.
