I have something to say to the Democrats. The game is over, you guys won, I hope you guys are right and that positive change comes to our Nation, I hope that Obama is ready for the challenge ahead. History has truly been made and I thank God that I am living in some of Americas Greatest days, we are witnessing History, ENJOY IT!! One day the little kids will wish they grew up in our day. 1) Just because you're a friend with someone, doesn't mean you share all of their beliefs. If your friend says tomorrow, "Let's kill all asians", does that make YOU a racist? 2) Please...3) Taken out of context. 4) Same. 5) Same - he meant that having an early unplanned baby makes life a bit harder economically, time-wise, etc. (but not necessarily less happy or worthy!). I didn't check the story... but why does it matter? His father was a Muslim, but Barack is not. What's so hard to grasp here? I didn't know that your father's religion somehow makes you of that religion. Very interesting theory indeed.

The track record of government intervention is far less impressive than its rhetoric.One of the biggest problems with government intervention in the economy is that politicians usually have neither the knowledge nor the incentives to intervene at the right time.

Those on the Left love to believe that the stock market crash of 1929 showed the failure of the free market and that the New Deal interventions in the 1930s saved the day.But the stock market crash of 1987 (I beleive this is what you were referring to when you said 88)was just as big and Ronald Reagan resisted loud calls for him to intervene. The result was not another Great Depression but the beginning of a decades-long period of prosperity.

Have you seen what the liberals have done in San Francisco? The black population of San Fran has been cut in half since 1970-- and San Francisco is the very model of a community of liberal Democrats, including green zealots who are heedless of the consequences of their actions on others.

Economists point to studies done in countries around the world, showing that higher minimum wage rates usually mean higher unemployment rates among lower skilled and less experienced workers.That's their problem. A politician's problem is how to look like he is for "the poor" and against those who are "exploiting" them. The facts are irrelevant to maintaining that political image.

90% of American millionaires are first generation rich. To start off, yes the Wendy's worker will make $6.50, but based on performance your pay will increase. If you stick with it, your position will increase as well. Obama is for higher minimum wage rates. Does anyone care what actually happens in countries with higher minimum wage rates? Of course not. |
