There is an explanation. Investigate his ties to the Kurds and the Kurds ties to Israel. He worked on the Senate committee that cooked up the whole "genocide of the Kurds" stuff.They never produced any meaningful evidence of it. But it worked to demonize Iraq for Israel. So liberals could sleep easy while we launched out aggression against Iraq. After all we were taking out a genocidal dictator. Except that US aggression (support by Van Hollen) has murdered many X more.
