I Dont download Southpark episodes because the episodes are released and stored in FULL length on Southpark's main webpage. If it works for them, why not other media?

Lastly, where does he(the lawyer) get off claiming sales have dropped 30% PER YEAR?!? I mean, at that rate they'd have been bankrupt ages ago, right?Jesse Hirsh and the anchor guy have it right......the industry blows and needs to change or else move out of the way.

It's also funny to hear that same guy make it seem that the kids/teens are learning it from their parents and copying them(as if younger people couldn't do stuff like this on their own or come up with such thoughts.)Those comments alone show how the industry really feels: They could care less about what media the younger set wants and how they want it delivered.....they just want to get poid HUGE sums of money for doing next to nothing(The artist(s)/creator(s) does/do most of the work.).

That lawyer guy is one the HUGEST douches i've ever seen.....all he did was spew the same crap i've heard from the recording/media industry since the Napster days: "It's wrong, and these people are criminals, and they shouldn't do it....so we're going to have to sue them and take other measures to protect OUR(not the artist's, but their) property....blah, blah blah."

when you steal something from a store there is 1 less then that the store can sell. when you COPY a file, you are creating a duplicate.. thats not stealing. thats copying.. and its wrong to compare downloading a song and stealing a cd because they are completely different. I would bet that a large percentage of shit that people download is stuff they would never normally by. its not fair to say that if downloading didnt exist that consumption would be the same.. and then use that to inflate loss |
