I agree, a lot of the older shows were a lot easier to follow than new "action packed" shows thanks to the MTV phenomenon where gyrating camera work and abrupt transitions make for good TV. This is especially apparent watching movies like Gladiator where the camera jerks once and 5 people instantly die inexplicably, but no one has a problem with that. Oh how I miss Carl Sagan!

I for one really love the way this was filmed. You don't see this kind of effort to deliver a sound message and at the same time be artistic in a lot of contemporary television.
