Congressman Steve King: Stop Bilingual Ballots

Presidential Election 2008

Congressman Steve King (R-IA) is the hero of Americans for his courageous stand in 2006 to fight bilingual ballots during the Voting Rights Act reauthorization. A requirement of becoming a citizen is English proficiency, yet bi-lingual ballots encourage illiteracy in English by those who have or plan to become citizens. We must make English the official language, and to stop illegal immigration and amnesty. Rep. King is the Chairman of the Conservative Opportunity Society. Watch his report of this battle and find out what it means to you. This is an edition of Conservative Roundtable, the nationally broadcast conservative television program hosted by Howard Phillips, and produced by The Conservative Caucus. Any public institution should use ONLY English, it's ridiculous too that people can register to vote in five languages.

push 1 for english, push 2 to deport illegal aliens

If the have government forms in other languages then there should be a charge for those forms. It is WRONG for Americans to have to pay for special non-english forms for those that are either to ignorant, stupid, or lazy to learn the language of the land which they live.

Steve King is a sharp guy, and right on this one. He is wrong on Electoral college though.

Absolutely! GET INVOLVED OR YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM.Americans have become so apathetic and lazy, especting somebody else to get things done. This is NOT the American way! Vote the Incumbents out of ofc. Check out:Numbers USA, ALIPAC, FAIR, Grassfire, and The Dustin Inman Society. Dustin was murdered by an Illegal Alien in 2000 -- Great Website with many links.

Haha, please, no immigrant/alien is expecting Americans to know his/her mother tongue. They simply don't care whether you understand them or not.

I moved to Germany with the intent to return to the United States within five years. The first thing I did was take a class in German. I only speak German with Germans and do not insist they learn English. If I could learn German than people coming to my beloved United States (for which I spent six years in the Army ready to defend) can take the time to learn English. Press 1 for English, press 2 for go and learn English, or else leave.

Amen! Learning the language of the country YOU have chosen to become a citizen of should NOT bother you and furthermore, you should be PROUD to know that language. ENGLISH BALLOTS ONLY IN THE US!!

I wish everyone in this country felt the same way as we do...I am sick of people coming over here and expecting US to know their language!
